Assault :perintis musik thrash/funky Malaysia(1989-1992)

Assault....sebuah lagi kugiran thrash metal yg lahir dekad penghujung 80 an.Di tubuhkan oleh Man pd pertengahan tahun 1989 di Ibu kota k.lumpur.....Barisan line up awal di barisi oleh Din(vox) Ali(gitar) Man(bass) & Man pasar(drum). Sebuah band yg berkiblatkan musik speed/thrash metal dgn memainkan lagu2 cover dr Dark Angel,Slayer,Anthrax,Exodus....etc.
Menjadikn Amerah n Hellion studio sbg tempat utama mereka.
Tahun 1990...telah menjadi sejarah buat mereka apabila di beri peluang bermain gigs di Galactica Club,Kota Raya..inilah persembahan pertama Assault ,beraksi bersama2 band H20,Punisher,& Silent death. Gig ini di anjurkan oleh Kingsway(jenama rokok).Assault  telah menbawakan lagu cover sprt "riot of violence(Kreator) Battery(Metallica) The ultra violence(Death angel) & Doomsday for the deceiver(Flotsam & Jetsam).Melalui gig ini nama Assault mula di kenali di dlm scene Ug ....Tidak lama selepas gig ini, Din(vokal) & Ali(gitar) telah mengudurkan diri...

Wary bekas vokal Bacteria telah menggalas posisi vox dan Oz yusuf di posisi gitar. Dgn line up baru...Assault telah mengubah haluan musik dr speed/thrash kpd musik yg lebih berat iaitu teknikal/death metal dgn pengaruh dr Death,Possessed,N.death,Sepultura..etc.
Dlm tahun 1991 cerita n nama Assault,Nemesis,Picagari,&Punisher tersiar di dlm Majalah Metal Dunia Kerrang! Setelah menyertai beberapa siri gigs di ibukota, Wary(vox) telah mengundurkan diri...
Awal tahun 1992, dua orang anggota baru di rekrut Adrin(vox) & Boy ex Punisher(gitar)Dgn formasi baru...Assault sekali lagi mengubah haluan musik mereka.Namun kali ini mencuba musik baru iaitu Funk/grunge pengaruh dr Nirvana,Red hot chili paper,Mind funk... Perubahan ini mendapat kritikan hebat dr peminat2 Ug ekstrim tanahair krn mengubah haluan dr Metal kpd musik grunge! Namun Assault tetap dgn pendirian mereka utk menbawa perubahan dlm musik Ug tanahair.Dlm bln jun 1992,dgn konsep baru..Assault telah di undang bermain dlm sebuah gigs alternative iaitu "The alternative music showcase part 1" yg  berlangsung di club Rennaisance Ampang..beraksi bersama I.maggots,The pilgrims,Mutilation & FtG. inilah antara gigs yg besar di sertai oleh mereka... 

Perancangan seterusnya adalah utk merekodkan sebuah pita demo,..di tahun ini juga musik Alternative grunge mula merebak ke serata pelusuk dunia termasuklah Malaysia.
Setelah beberapa perancangan di buat..di penghujung,'92 band ini mula mengalami masalah sehingga terpaksa di bubarkan.Perpecahan ini adalah di sebabkan krn hala tuju musik,Man(bass)berhasrat utk kembali bermain musik metal ...Perpecahan Assault tanpa sempat meninggalkan sebarang material@demo.Dan akhirnya anggota yg lain terpaksa menbawa haluan baru dgn menubuhkan band funky indie bernama Naked Butterfly yg menbariskan Adrin(vocal) Oz yusuf(gitar) Boy(gitar) Mamal(bass) & Che mat ex-Sil khannas/Silent Death) selaku(drum).Di tubuhkan dlm tahun 1994...dan dlm tahun 1995 merakamkan Album sulung berjudul"Dreamwalk" berkonsepkan musik Funky/indie/rock.Sebuah konsep yg unik...di bawah label Dreamwalk rec/warnada music.3 bekas anggota Assault ini sempat beraksi di pentas2 gigs sebelum Naked butterfly juga turut berpecah dlm tahun 1996. Man & Man pasar pula tidak lagi terlibat dgn musik...Oz yusuf adalah anggota yg paling aktif di mana selepas perpecahan band2 ini,beliau menjadi penerbit album2 metal n menanggotai band reggae Republic of Brieckfields.
Namun Oz yusuf telah kembali ke rahmatullah...(al fatehah)
